author : Joni ParkerJoni Parker’s decision to become an author didn’t come until after she completed a career in the U.S. Navy and another in federal civil service. Her writing career began with the novel, “The Black Elf of Seaward Isle,” which was the first book of her trilogy, “The Seaward Isle Saga. She followed it up with a four-book series, “The Chronicles of Eledon,” for which she received a number of awards including three Book Excellence Awards (finalist for three consecutive years), the International Book Award (finalist), and the John E. Weaver Excellent Reads Award winner (2017). Her latest book, “Curse of the Sea,” is the first book of a new trilogy, “The Admiralty Archives” and was published in 2018.\n\nJoni was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Japan when she was 8 so her father could become a professional golfer. Upon their return to the States, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. After high school, Joni started college but dropped out and joined the U.S. Navy and completed a three-year tour. With help from the GI Bill, Joni completed her bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA. She returned to the Navy to complete a 22-year career and earned a Master of Military Arts and Sciences from the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College. After retirement, she and her husband traveled the country in their RV, until he passed away. Joni returned to work in federal civil service but retired again in order to write.
